A HARLEY Davidson motorcycle rider from Crewkerne has been ordered to pay over £1,000 after pleading guilty to speeding on the A35 in Dorset.
Lee Christopher Swanwick, of Ashlands Meadow, was caught riding at 81mph on the A35 trunk road near Miles Cross, Bridport – a road with a 50mph speed limit – on June 13, 2021.
Swanwick, 54, pleaded guilty under the single justice procedure on Tuesday, March 29.
The single justice procedure removes the need for the prosecutor and the defendant to attend court for a hearing and allows defendants to manage their cases in writing.
He was fined £930 by Weymouth Magistrates’ Court and ordered to pay a £93 surcharge to fund victim services and £90 in court costs.
He has until April 12 to pay his £1,113 court bill.
Swanwick was also handed six penalty points.
Court documents say his guilty plea was "taken into account when imposing sentence".
