A NUMBER of workers at Hinkley Point C have gone on strike today (Friday, April 1).
A source, who has asked not to be named, contacted us to say an unspecified number of workers had decided to walk out due to a disagreement over "bonuses".
They did not elaborate over the exact nature of the dispute, but their bosses said the issue revolved around "concerns about their working arrangements".
The workers who failed to show today are part of the team employed by Bylor, which is a joint venture between Boutgues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke carrying out civil construction works as a central partner at Hinkley Point C.
A spokesperson for Bylor said: “Whilst other members of our Bylor team continued to work as normal at Hinkley Point C today, some have chosen to stand down.
"This group of workers have expressed concerns about their working arrangements at Hinkley Point C.
“Bylor, in collaboration with EDF and the unions, continue to hold discussions with our workforce regarding their concerns so that we can achieve a resolution and return to work.”
