WELLINGTON Spring Flower Show made its long-awaited return on Saturday after two years away due to Covid.
The show took place in the hall of Wellington Prep School on Saturday, April 2 and saw winners, runners-up, and third-placed entrants named in 28 classes.
A virtual Wellington Spring Flower Show was held last April, with local people encouraged to share photographs of their spring flowers online.
A reduced-scale version of a Wellington Flower Summer Show took place in August last year.
A spokesperson for Wellington Flower Show said: "Having not been able to stage spring shows in either 2020 or 2021, it was great to be back to celebrating the colours, forms and scents of spring with daffodils, tulips, orchids, camellias and hellebores.
"The exhibits were well up to usual expectations, both in standard and in numbers and the show was well supported by visitors.
"All in all, it was a great start to the new growing season."
The Wellington Summer Flower Show will take place on Saturday, August 27, in the Alan Rogers Centre at Wellington School.
