AN iconic pub just outside Taunton is set to change its name.
The Toby Carvery at Ruishton off Junction 25 of the M5 is to become known as Miller & Carter Steakhouse.
Both brands are owned by Birmingham-based Mitchells and Butlers, which runs almost 1,200 managed pubs, bars and restaurants across the UK.
The Toby Carvery, historically known as the Blackbrook Tavern, is as a "family-friendly pub specialising in carvery roasts, with large beer garden and children's play area".
The nearest Miller & Carter Steakhouses are in Exeter and Weston-super-Mare, and the company offers "the best British and Irish cuts".
A planning application has been submitted with Somerset West and Taunton Council to put up new signage outside the pub reflecting the changes.
The County Gazette has contacted Mitchells and Butlers for a comment.
