THERE was a lucky escape after a horsebox suffered a blowout on the M5 in Somerset yesterday (Saturday, April 9).
Special constables from Avon and Somerset Police's road policing unit were quickly on the scene.
They set up a lane closure after the driver kept control of the vehicle and horsebox and pulled over onto the hard shoulder.
A post on Twitter from the force's Special Constables account said: "RPU Specials out yesterday on the M5 southbound.
"Lane 1 closure after a horsebox suffered a serious blow out.
"Driver kept control though."
