A MOTHER and daughter are delivering more than 300 chocolate eggs to young patients spending Easter in Musgrove Park Hospital and to homeless people.

Dionne John and 10-year-old Keira will be dropping the eggs off at the children's ward and at the Open Door charity for the second year running.

Dionne collected the goodies from work colleagues at Somerset County Council, Tesco, Asda and Aldi, as well as family and friends.

She said: "We want to say a massive thank you to everyone that has donated to our collection for these two causes.

"We hope this brings a big smile to many children this Easter.”

It meant a lot for Keira to donate a large box of eggs to Open Door, a homeless charity she loyally supports.

Dionne and Keira have also donated many bags of needed warm clothing over the winter months.

Dionne, who is Mrs Taunton Atlantic and is competing in Miss Atlantic United Kingdom next week to raise money for mental health charity MIND, said: "We are so proud of Keira for having such a kind nature and wanting to help people at such a young age.”

Dionne has to date now raised over £10,000 for various charities.

Keira won the national title of Pre Teen Galaxy Ireland in November, which will see her head of to Texas later on this year to compete internationally.
