A GROUP of motorcycle riders descended on Combe Sydenham Country Park on Saturday for the Somerset Trail Rider Fellowship's (TRF) Exmoor Forest Ride Day.
Riders from the county and across the UK met at Raleghs Cross Inn to park and unload their bikes before heading to the forest, which is located within the grounds of an Elizabethan manor house.
Somerset TRF members set up the routes and courses for the non-competitive fun day, which ran from 9:30am until 4pm.
The event was authorised by the International Organisation of Professional Drivers (IOPD), insured through the TRF national organisation, and had an on-site medic and ambulance.
Ticket sales were limited to 250 riders, who were all TRF members.
The Exmoor Forest Ride Day is a biannual event that runs every April and October.
A spokesperson for the Somerset TRF said: "For the last 12 years, we have developed a fantastic relationship with a significant landowner of a number of private forests on Exmoor that has resulted in our flagship Exmoor Forest Ride Day that we run in April and October each year.
"This April, we were at Combe Sydenham Country Park, a forest that is within the site of an Elizabethan manor house with lakes and views of the Quantock Hills, Bristol Channel, and over to Wales.
"It is a fabulous venue and one of our favourite forests.
"The feedback from all riders on the day and after on social media is always very positive."
The Somerset TRF is a group of motorcycle riders who enjoy riding on the county's historic green roads.
It is part of a national organisation that has over 7,000 members.
The TRF is "always looking for opportunities for legal and controlled riding in areas other than tarmac roads".
The group is set to hold the Platinum Jubilee Long Distance Trial on May 29.
It also fundraises every year for St Margaret's Hospice and Children's Hospice South West.
Somerset TRF holds its group meeting at the Maypole Inn in Thurloxton on the first Thursday of the month at 8pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend to find out more and see what the group is all about.
