POLICE have confirmed that a road has been closed after a "serious collision involving a motorbike and a tractor" near Norton St Philip, Mendip.
The road closure is in place on the A366 Farleigh Road.
Diversions are in place and the police have asked motorists to avoid the area.
Witnesses of the collision have been asked to contact the police by phoning the non-emergency number, 101.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A closure is in place on the A366 Farleigh Road, near Norton St Philip, following a serious collision involving a motorbike and a tractor.
"Diversions are in place but we'd ask people to avoid the area if possible."

Anyone who witnessed the accident should call 101 and quote log number 606 of April 18.
Travel Somerset has reported "slow traffic due to serious accident, a tractor and a motorbike involved between Longmead Close and A36 (Brown Shutters)".
