TAUNTON Town won the Pitching In Southern League title yesterday after a 2-1 home win against Farnborough put them five points clear at the top.
As the full time whistle sounded fans and players joined on the pitch to celebrate the momentous achievement from Taunton Town which made for some amazing photographs.
The title win means that Taunton will now play in the National League South - the highest level the club has ever reached meaning it was a history making day.
Jay Foulston and Ross Stearn scored the two goals for Taunton in the match, but the squad as a whole have all put in an amazing effort over the course of the season to win the league.
From being sat in 9th place in November, not many gave Town a chance of reaching the playoffs, let alone a title win. That just shows the fight and the belief this group of players has.
What an achievement.
