A FREE event to celebrate Somerset Armed Forces Day is set to be held in Taunton's Vivary Park in July, featuring live music, exhibitions, and catering options.
Somerset Armed Forces Day, held on Saturday, July 2, will be a chance for local people to show their support for the men and women who make up the armed forces.
Event organisers have joined forces with current military personnel, reserves, veterans, cadets, and their families to thank armed forces members for their service.
The show will be opened by Somerset Armed Forces Day champion and Dragon's Den investor Deborah Meaden.
There will be a variety of stalls, exhibitions, military vehicles - including tanks and helicopters - and military personnel in attendance.
As part of the event timetable, the Taunton Military Wives Choir and Kirsten Orsborn, the forces sweetheart for the Royal Marines, will perform.
A event spokesperson said: “This event will be the biggest and best day out in Somerset this year.
“We have ordered beautiful weather for the day (cross fingers) to enable everyone to stroll around the park, have fun, be entertained, and have the best experience.
“Showing support for the armed forces provides a much-valued morale boost for the troops and their families.
“The Somerset Armed Forces Day committee is incredibly grateful to all our sponsors, especially Somerset County Council, Somerset West and Taunton Council, Eagle Plant, Somerset County Gazette, Tone FM, Berrys Coaches, TEK Military Seating and The Castle Hotel.”
The event will be held on Saturday, July 2 between 10am and 6pm in Vivary Park.
