A SOMERSET farm shop is holding a competition that will allow the winning entrant to have their royal doughnut idea brought to life.
Rumwell Farm Shop has encouraged people living in the county to submit their designs for a regal doughnut to a competition to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The winning creating will become the award-winning farm shop's June Jubilee doughnut of the month.
Anne Mitchell, Rumwell Farm Shop joint owner, said: “We’re asking adults and children to come up with a unique doughnut filling and submit them to us.
“The winner will have their doughnut made and sold in our bakery throughout June.
“We want to see some really regal and original doughnut filling ideas.
“Entries, including drawing and any recipes, can be submitted via email to chris@rumwellfarmshop.com and should be sent to us by 5pm on Saturday, May 14.
“A winner will be picked and announced on our social media pages on May 16.
“They will also receive 12 doughnuts of their choice and be asked to collect their prize, and have their photos taken for publicity - including social media - before the end of May at a mutually agreeable time.
“Children who enter need to have their submissions sent in by their parents or guardians, and they will need to give permission for publicity.”
Rumwell Farm Shop is an independent, family-run business owned by the Mitchell family.
It was initially founded as a potato store by David and Anne Mitchell but the range of products soon increased due to customer demand.
The owner's sons, James and Jack, are now involved in running the business alongside daughters-in-law Sophie and Donna.
Rumwell Farm Shop has a traditional butchery counter selling its home-reared and free-range pork and Rumwell Angus beef.
There is also a café, flower shed, delicatessen, bakery, jam kitchen, food hall, wine cellar, and gift room.
The Rumwell Café sources its food from the Mitchell family farm, located four miles away from the farm shop, and other regional suppliers.
