King’s College pupil Cameron W won the Most Improved Player Award at Taunton Vale Hockey Club Seniors End of Season Dinner that took place last weekend.
Cameron, who is 15, has been playing for the Taunton Vale junior section for many years.
He is part of the England Hockey Taunton Performance Centre and attended the England Hockey Futures Cup last summer, where he played for the Wessex Leopards team who were ultimately crowned champions.
This season he has been playing in the Taunton Vale Mens’ Second Team with King’s supporting him to play in league fixtures by managing his time and training between all environments.
Clare Hayes, Head of Hockey at King’s said: “This is a tribute to all the hard work Cam has put into his hockey.
"He is currently working hard at the England Hockey Performance Centre to gain selection for the Performance Centre Challenge Cup, having been selected for the England Hockey Futures Cup a year young last year.
She added: “Cam is able to play some senior club hockey at Taunton Vale alongside his hockey at school which really drives his hockey development. He is very focused and we seek to help in in any way we can, whether that is through strength and conditioning support or individual sessions and at King’s.”
