A SOUTH Somerset man has been ordered to pay £500 in compensation to a man he assaulted in Martock around 17 months ago.
Samuel William Guy Stark, of Naish Barton, East Coker, has also been told to carry out 190 hours of unpaid work.
Stark, 27, assaulting the man by “by beating him” on December 2, 2020.
He pleaded guilty to the offence on Friday, April 15.
He was sentenced on Friday, May 13 at Yeovil Magistrates’ Court, where he was ordered to pay compensation of £500.
Stark must also pay £250 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £95 surcharge to fund victim services.
He will pay his £845 court bill in monthly instalments of £50 from Friday, June 10.
Stark must complete his 190 hours of unpaid work within 12 months under the supervision of his responsible officer.
Court documents say his guilty plea was “taken into account when imposing sentence”.
