THE first-ever Exmoor Fair took place on Sunday at Allerford Village Hall & Grounds with a variety of stalls offering food and drinks, arts and crafts, and even yoga.
The event was organised by Exmoor4All, which aims to run several more fairs in Allerford this year.
Exmoor4All had initially planned to host Taste Exmoor events in Porlock Vale in the last two years, but these could not go ahead due to Covid.
The new fair had a bar and indoor and outdoor stalls offering a variety of treats and goods including pizza, Carribean food, milkshakes, ice cream, and locally made arts and crafts products.
Businesses in attendance included Exmoor Pizza Pod, Caribbean Cottage, Selworthy Pantry, India in a Jar, Roly’s Fudge, Taylor’d Tipple, and Explore Exmoor (Yoga & Gong).
There was also a game of junior cricket hosted by Minehead coach Jack Richards.
The free-to-enter event was held between 10am and 4pm, with the cricket match taking place for two hours from noon.
Exmoor4All was founded in 2012 also shares photos and stories of Exmoor, tips of things to do, and interesting articles about the national park.
It is also planning to host an Exmoor Food Fest from the end of January 2023 and throughout February to celebrate the national park's finest hospitality.
