FIREFIGHTERS cut a person free from a vehicle following a collision on the Blackdown Hills yesterday (Tuesday, May 24).
Two fire engines from Taunton Fire Station were sent to the two-vehicle crash on a crossroads on Neroche Road, at Otterford, at 5.43pm.
A heavy rescue unit was also sent.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "On arrival crews confirmed two casualties, one of which was medically and physically trapped.
"Crews isolated the batteries of both vehicles and got to work with hydraulic cutting equipment, one hose, small tools, one trauma pack and stabilising blocks to release the casualty.
"The casualty was released by fire service personnel and put in the care of the ambulance service."
