THE Red Arrows will be visible in the skies over two Somerset towns on Saturday as part of their plans to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The RAF's Aerobatic Team has a packed schedule over the extended bank holiday weekend, featuring flypasts at Buckingham Palace tomorrow and on Sunday.
A formation of more than 70 aircraft - including the Red Arrows - will be flown over Buckingham Palace on Thursday as part of the Queen’s birthday parade.
The iconic aircraft will also headline the Midlands Air Festival with two displays at the Ragley Hall Estate before heading through the south west on Saturday.
The Red Arrows will fly from Fairford, Gloucester, to Exeter on June 4 - and people in Somerset will be able to catch a glimpse of them over Taunton and Minehead.
According to military-airshows.co.uk, they will perform flypasts at Vivary Park in Taunton at 2:32pm and Minehead at 2:37pm.
The Red Arrows are also expected to be visible in Wellington at 2:33pm while the town's street fair is underway.
They will also be in the vicinity of High Ham (2:30pm) and Chargot Wood, Exmoor (2:36pm).
On Sunday, they will take part in the English Riviera Airshow in Torbay.
Vivary Park will host a free Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday between 11am and 4:30pm, with people invited to bring their own picnic, rugs, chairs, and flags.
The event will be officially opened at midday by the Mayor of Taunton, councillor Sue Lees, with outside broadcast support from Tone FM.
There will be entertainment to suit all ages with theatre performances, games, and activities.
It will also feature performances from Wellington Silver Band, the King Alfred Concert Band, and the Taunton Rock Choir.
During the afternoon, there will be a Commemorative Pebble Treasure Hunt, a Competition of the Crown, and a fancy dress parade.
The Big Jubilee Lunch will close with a ceremonial toast to the Queen with the Somerset Opera leading a Last Night of the Proms-style singalong of the National Anthem, Land of Hope and Glory, and Rule Britannia.
The Red Arrows will put on displays at the Weston Air Festival in North Somerset on June 26.
