DOZENS of pieces of local artwork will go on sale tomorrow (Thursday, June 2) to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The Quantock Friends Cancer Research UK group will launch its online fundraising auction tomorrow at 9am on the Superstar Auctions website.
The auction will close at 11pm on Thursday, June 23.
Group chair Emma Hunt said: “We are trying to raise lots of money for CRUK and have a wonderful selection of 62 lots from local artists.”
The items up for grabs include Quantocks in the Winter by David Simonson, Albatros by Sue Tillery, Beech Bank by Claire Duvergier, and Boxing Hares by Laura Pentreath (all pictured).
Cancer Research UK funds scientists, doctors, and nurses to help beat cancer sooner.
The charity also provides cancer information to the general public.
Cancer Research UK says it receives “no Government funding for our research, so our life-saving work is only possible thanks to people like you”.
The charity was founded in 2002 but its history goes back 120 years to the establishment of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
The charity's website says: “Our research network allows the smartest minds to work together, locally, to ensure discoveries are turned into benefits for people with cancer everywhere, sooner.”
