MAGIC duo High Jinx will be staging their magic, illusion and circus skills show at the Taunton Brewhouse Theatre on Saturday, June 18 at 2.30pm.

There is a local connection between the act and the County town of Somerset as the act formed when a Taunton mum-of-two married a top magician.

Tamsyn Jordan and husband Michael work under the stage name High Jinx and have had phenomenal international success along with several sell-out summer seasons in Blackpool.

The couple have been on TV several times and Michael even taught legendary American magicians Penn and Teller how to spin plates.

Tamsyn said: “I’ve always had an interest in illusion and magic – I was one of those children who always asked for a magic set at Christmas - so was absolutely thrilled when I got the job.”

“It’s taken me into another world which I didn’t know existed,” she said. “It’s a hidden world of thousands of people worldwide who are so incredibly skilled at magic and illusions.

Tamsyn had stepped back from the show while the couple’s two children, four-year-old Kiana and six-year-old Logan were really small but is back on stage with him again now and will be doing the Taunton show along with a summer season at the world-famous Blackpool Tower. The family live in the Norton Fitzwarren area of Taunton.

Tamsyn was brought up in Norton Fitzwarren and attended Bishops Lydeard Church School and Norton Fitzwarren Primary School, the former Ladymead Community School and then did her A-levels at Bridgwater and Taunton College.

She worked in retail at both Primark and Debenhams in Taunton.

Michael and Tamsyn have devised most of the illusions themselves so you’ll not see anything like it anywhere else.

One of their most stunning illusions is called Excalibur with Michael plunging swords into a glass box with Tamsyn inside and the trick has an unexpected sting in its tail.
