FOUR local bands are set to perform at Minehead's Regal Theatre later this month to raise money for people suffering because of the war in Ukraine.
All profits from the performance will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC)'s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The appeal is supporting charities and their partners in Ukraine and its neighbouring countries that are providing food, water, shelter, and medical assistance.
A spokesperson for the event said: “Local bands are staging a concert to raise funds for Ukraine on June 24 at 7:30pm at the Regal Theatre, Minehead.
“All profits will go to the DEC Humanitarian fund and everyone is giving their time for free.
“Tickets cost £10 each and are available from the box office.
“Show your support for the people of Ukraine and enjoy a lively and entertaining evening, which is sure to have you singing!
“From acoustic covers to original rock and two-tone, a fabulous solo acoustic artist and finishing with soul, funk and blues.”
The concert will feature performances from pop, soul, and funk four-piece Jessie & The Skunknecks; rockers The Understairs, acoustic cover band Samphire, and original material from south Wales artist Mark Davies.
The event is being supported by local businesses First Design and Exmoor Printers.
The DEC has estimated that around five million people have fled Ukraine since Russia launched its invasion in February, while around seven million people have left their homes to escape the conflict.
The charity says Ukrainian refugees are arriving in neighbouring countries - such as Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Moldova - with “only what they can carry”.
Tickets for the Music for Ukraine concert are available to buy online from the Regal Theatre's box office.
