A RUGBY coach with experience of training top international sides has been appointed to the rugby programme at Wellington School.
Mark Anscombe, who takes up the post next year, has nearly 30 years experience of coaching at an elite level all over the world.
His CV contains periods as head coach of the New Zealand Under 20s squad, head coach at Ulster Rugby and also of the Canadian national team.
Rugby prowess runs in the family as his son, Gareth Anscombe, is a current Wales international at either fly half or full back.
Mark will be joining Wellington School as a consultant and, as well as working with the boys and girls, he will be focussing on supporting the development of the existing team of coaches to ensure players are getting the very best coaching.
A school spokesperson said: "As the rugby programme goes from strength to strength at Wellington, Mark is a welcome addition and the team are are delighted to have him on board."
