DRIVERS planning on making late-night trips on the M5 and A303 this week should be aware of carriageway closures in place from tonight.
Both roads will be closed for eight hours overnight on several days this week from today (Monday, June 20).
The Toneway in Taunton will also be closed overnight on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
M5 northbound
The M5's northbound carriageway will be closed between junction 24 (Bridgwater south) and junction 23 (Bridgwater north, Dunball interchange) for two nights.
The carriageway will be closed between 9pm and 5am tonight (June 20/21) and tomorrow (June 21/22).
National Highways says the closure is for “bridge inspections”.
A diversion will be in place via the A38.
A303 westbound
The A303's westbound carriageway will be closed between Ilchester and the Cartgate roundabout (near Martock and Yeovil) for five nights this week.

The carriageway will be closed “for resurfacing”.
A diversion will be in place via the A37, the A30, and the A3088.
