EVERY year the King’s Hall cricket teams enter the County Competitions, which are always extremely competitive in Somerset.

This season the Under 11, Under 12 and Under 13 boys all won their respective County Cups.

The Under 11s played against Millfield at Huish and Langport CC at the beginning of June, with Wilbur Mack picking up player of the match after a fine batting performance.

Since then, the team which is coached by Ali Halls the Director of Sport at King’s Hall, played in the Regional Finals against the Dorset, Devon and Cornwall winners where they were again successful, and now travel to play in the National Finals at Oakham School on 7 July.

On Wednesday, the Under 12s, coached by Steve Watson, played in the County final against Taunton School, hosted by Frome CC. Batting first, Nick W scored a very impressive 115 runs for King’s which, followed up by a strong bowling performance, resulted in a victory.

The King’s Hall Under13s played against Taunton in the final, and after bowling and fielding fantastically, it was Theo L with an unbeaten 71 that helped take the team to victory.

The Under 13s are coached by Paul Thomas, who retires from King's Hall after 32 years of service.
