A PRIMARY school has purchased outdoor musical equipment to support its pupils’ wellbeing.

Trull Primary School was able to purchase some outdoor symphony musical chimes thanks to the support provided by the WPA Benevolent Foundation.

The foundation supports projects throughout the United Kingdom including projects promoting good health as well as supporting the purchase of healthy physical activity equipment in schools.

Projects they have supported have included musical instruments, trampolines, trim trails, bicycles, outdoor table tennis, cycle shelters, basketball and rugby equipment, exercise mats as well as edible playgrounds (vegetable patches).

Headteacher Karen Wedlake said: “We as a school were very lucky to have been supported by WPA, enabling us to purchase some large ‘Outdoor Symphony Musical Chimes' to help with our pupils’ well-being and allow the children to thrive.

“As a school that greatly values music, these chimes will assist with the children’s musical prowess. We are extremely grateful to WPA for helping us with this amazing purchase, which sits proudly in our Outdoor Education space.”

A message from the school also said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to the WPA Benevolent Foundation for giving us the funding to purchase these superb musical chimes which are now in our Outdoor Education area.

“They will give our children many hours of fun composing and playing tunes, which also helps with their general wellbeing as well as their musical ability.”

Phil Arnold, regional business development manager, WPA Healthcare Practice, said: “I’m delighted that the WPA Benevolent Foundation has been able to provide funding for the chimes which I am sure will bring much enjoyment to the pupils.
