TAUNTON Rugby Football Club has announced that planning permission has been given for them to erect a new 100-seater stand at Veritas Park.
The club have since placed an order for the new stand with Stadium Solutions Ltd Brighton.
A spokesperson for the rugby club said: "With the Titans starting their journey in National One last season and going well in their debut season this new stand felt like an important way to continue the development of Taunton RFC.
With larger crowds expected for the new season this will give more people the opportunity to view the game from the comfort of a seat."
This has been project managed by long term TRFC supporter Steve Collard, who has also very kindly funded the build through his company ‘Commsplus Equipment Finance’ assisted by a generous donation from an anonymous supporter.
Taunton Fabrications have also heavily been involved with the project by taking down the old filming tower and old stand.
EA Construction (SW) Ltd of Wells will be preparing the groundworks for the new stand including the trenching for the cables.
On top of that, T&C Electrical Contractors Ltd, and Bytes-Digital Ltd, will be supplying the electric and fibre cable respectively including the final connections.
The club has said the modular design of the new stand will mean they are able to add further seating in years to come as the attendances continue to grow on matchdays.
This whole project shows further ambition for Taunton RFC and shows that the club is continuing to develop and move forward.
"We hope that this stand will be in place for our 1st league game on September 1 when we take on Plymouth Albion here at Veritas Park," the club added.
"TRFC would like to say a huge thank you for everyone involved with this project.
"We look forward to welcoming everyone who has made this possible to join us for a matchday and a well earnt drink during the 2022/23 season."
