Somerset Aerofest at Middlezoy Aerodrome

People attending the event on Saturday and Sunday (July 30 and 31) will be able to see more than 50 planes, helicopters, more than 200 classic cars and a similar number of classic motorcycles.

There will be a number of Chipmunk RAF trainer planes from the early 50s parking on site on the Sunday.

There will be a hangar full of exhibits and models, as well as 20 stalls.

There will be a chance to sit in a cockpit and to have your picture taken.

Children's activities will be offered at the Young Aviators section, while there will be a ride-on railway.

There will be a mass fly out from 3.30pm to end the show.

An artisan market from Langport will feature 40 stalls showcasing local produce, while there will also be local caterers offering food and refreshments.

Bridgwater Air Cadets and members of the town's carnival club will be attending.

Aerodrome director Paul Childs said: "We held our first event last year and it was a great success.

"Many people said they would be coming back this year and we're planning for it to be even bigger and better.

"The weather forecast is looking good and it's going to be a fantastic couple of days."

He added: "With the cancellation of Yeovilton Air Show this year, we are proudly supporting Navy Wings and the Fleet Air Arm charity who will be in attendance allowing them to fundraise and raise awareness of the importance of our local and historic naval heritage."

The gates at Middlezoy Aerodrome open at 10am both days, with entrance £10 for adults and free for accompanied under 16s.
