The first trailer for the new Dungeons & Dragons film has been released, and we think briefly shows a Wells filming location.
The film's full title is Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and is not the first adaptation of the RPG, with a version being made in 2000, along with two direct-to-video films in 2005 and 2012.
As part of San Diego Comic-Con the trailer was shown and members of the cast came to discuss it.
At the County Gazette, we think a very brief moment of the city of Wells features in the trailer and can be seen right at the end featuring Chris Pine's character, Elgin the Bard.
In what appears to be a shot outside of Wells Cathedral or the Bishop's Palace, Pine can be seen jumping and then beginning to play the lute, before it cuts to a release date for March 2023.

When did Dungeons & Dragons film in Wells?
Film crews descended on Wells last year to film segments, and used the cathedral as well as the area outside the Bishop's Palace for several scenes.
Pine was one of the actors seen on location, who is known for playing James T. Kirk in the rebooted Star Trek films, as well as appearing in Wonder Woman, Into the Woods, Unstoppable and Hell or High Water.
Young actress Chloe Coleman, who is known for appearing in the TV series Big Little Lies, was also spotted in Wells.
Other members of the cast include Hugh Grant, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Jason Wong and Daisy Head.
The film is expected to be released in March 2023 in cinemas, and was directed by the duo of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley.
