AN on-duty Avon and Somerset Police sergeant had sex with a vulnerable member of the public, it is claimed.
The officer, named only as PS W by the force, is also accused of lying to a fellow officer in relation to his own medical history.
PS W faces a misconduct hearing at the constabulary's HQ in Portishead on Monday (August 15).
They are alleged to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour for police of honesty and integrity and discreditable conduct.
The hearing will hear allegations that PS W:
- had sexual relations with a vulnerable member of the public while on duty;
- and gave untruthful answers to a Police Custody Sergeant in relation to his own medical history.
If proven, the allegations would amount to gross misconduct.
