ONCE again locals in and around the Langport area headed to the annual 10k race over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
On the Sunday, August 28 runners lined up for the road race that journeyed through the villages of Drayton, Muchelney and Langport.
The 10k Road Race is a generally flat and a fast race around the area and it provides a scenic run through the rural countryside on the Somerset Levels.
One runner said on completion: "Loved it - will be back next year. Blimey that was fast."
Another added: "Flattish course with a few gentle hills. Definite potential for PB - I did."
There were prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and a great participation medal for all.
This years winners were Tom Merson from Exmouth Harriers in a time of 31:31.7 and for the female runners Gill Pearson from Running For Time in a time of 38:53.6.
