KIRA Crossfield who has spent the whole of the current cricket season working in the catering department of Somerset has spent her last day working at the club.
On Tuesday along with three other youngster from Somerset she flew out to America to take up a music scholarship that will help her to develop her sining and her keyboard skills.
Kira, who originally hails from Coventry grew up living locally, said: “I am going out to Chicago in America to attend a music school for nine months, where I am going to be studying vocals and keyboards.
"I enjoy singing very much and cover a wide range including pop gospel - in fact I sing anything really."
This trip will realise a long held ambition for Kira.
"I have wanted to do something like this ever since I was nine years old and this has come about through my church, which is the Living Light Church which is situated near to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
"This is a great opportunity and I am really really excited. I don’t quite know where this will lead me at the moment but I am am really looking forward to the experience of going to live and study out in America.
"I'm really excited but I am already planning to come back to Somerset next season as I have enjoyed working here so much."
Kira will be joined by three other local youngsters on her trip by Izzy Regan, Daniel Thorne and Isaac Jones.
