TICKETS for all screenings at a new film festival in Somerset are now on sale.

Wellington Film Festival will make its debut at the end of this month after it was postponed because of Covid. It was first scheduled for September 2020.

The three-day festival will run from Friday, September 30 until Sunday, October 2.

It was initated by the Wellington Town Council Working Group and has been funded by the town council and Somerset West and Taunton Council.

The festival will be delivered by Somerset Film and Video Ltd, a registered charity.

Films will be shown in cafés and churches, with workshops put on in the library and schools.

Guests can expect short documentaries from local creators, a curated environmental evening from Transition Town Wellington, and big feature films.

A spokesperson said: “Wellington Film Festival is a new film festival with an exciting programme of activities, short and feature films.

“Located in the charming market town of Wellington, Somerset, close to the Devon border and Blackdown Hills.

“Originally intended to debut in September 2020, the festival was postponed due to the Covid-19 situation.

“We’re delighted to now be able to announce our new dates: September 30, October 1 and 2, 2022.

“Initiated by the Wellington Town Council Working Group and funded by Wellington Town Council and Somerset West and Taunton Council, delivery is co-ordinated by registered charity Somerset Film and Video Ltd.”
