A GARDEN shed and a fence have been destroyed by a fire that came within “very close proximity” of a house.
A greenhouse was also damaged by the fire, which occurred on Sunday, September 18 in the St John's Road area of Frome.
Fire crews from Warminster and Westbury were called to the scene at 7.04am alongside firefighters from Frome.
They put out the fire using two hose reel jets, a safety jet, a thermal imaging camera, and a gas monitor.
A Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Frome fire crews have attended a garden shed fire in the St Johns Road area of Frome.
“The garden shed was in very close proximity to the house. Three fire engines were mobilised from Frome, Warminster and Westbury along with two fire officers.
“The timber construction shed measuring 4x6 metres was 100 per cent damaged by the fire.
“The fire had also spread to the garden fence and a greenhouse which were 70 per cent damaged by fire.
“Fire crews used 6 x breathing apparatus, 2 x hose reel jets, 1 x safety jet, 1 x thermal image camera, 1 x gas monitors when extinguishing the fire.
“The cause of the fire has been deemed accidental.”
