THE widow of a former Mayor was elected to Taunton Deane Council in yesterday's (Thursday) by election.
Mollie Floyd (LibDem) gained more than half the votes in the poll in the Comeytrowe area.
She now takes her seat at the Deane House which became vacant after the recent death of her husband, Tony Floyd (LibDem).
Wendy Skene (Con) was runner up, with UKIP's Dorothy Baker third.
There was a high turnout of 50.1% of electors in the ward.
RESULT: Dorothy Baker (UKIP) 127 votes; Mollie Floyd (LibDem) 1,362; Wendy Skene (Con) 778.
