COMEDIAN Maisie Adam will bring her ‘Buzzed’ stand-up tour to Taunton's Brewhouse Theatre at the start of next year.
The Yorkshire comic, 28, launched her tour in September following a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer.
Maisie, who is known for appearing on Mock The Week, The Last Leg, and A League of Their Own, will visit Taunton on Thursday, February 2.
It promises to be an uplifting evening filled with witty observations and high-octane energy.
Discussing the return of stand-up gigs, Maisie said: “Audiences are super appreciative to have everything back. They're dreamy and just so supportive.
“If you watch a special on TV you react to it so differently than if you are in the room.
“I wanted to do a show that was happy and uplifting and looking forward.
“The way things have been lately, I like watching stuff that makes me laugh and feel optimistic, so I filled the show with all the things that make me happy and I care about.”
One of her topics will be England's success at the Women's European Championships during the summer, which Maisie attended the final of.
The Leeds United supporter said: “When the final whistle blew I burst into tears because it was just so much emotion after 120 minutes.
“But once I'd wiped away the tears, I turned to my fiancé and said something that can only come from a self-obsessed comedian: ‘It's just really good, because my show will have so much more of a point now.’
“It's been the best time to talk about football, especially from a woman's perspective.”
Maisie's passion for football comes from her mother Jill, a punk fan who runs Manchester's Louder Than Words music and books festival.
“I remember talking to my mother about the fact I wanted to make people laugh with this show and was worrying I didn't have a them and my mum said, ‘Bollocks, just go and do it!’,” said Maisie.
“Sometimes I have to remind myself to have a bit more of my mum's way of thinking of just doing what you want to do.”
