IF you're from Somerset and you're afraid of ghosts, maybe you're living in the wrong county.
That's because Somerset is apparently one of the spookiest counties in the UK, according to research for PsychicWorld.com.
According to its data, Somerset was the ninth scariest county in the country with 400 ghostly sightings recorded.
And the South West topped the list of regions with 2,149 hauntings listed out of a total of 11,700 nationwide using "reputable paranormal databases".
With Hallowe'en a few days away, here's a list of the most common claims of paranormal activities in the UK:
phantom horses and riders, 526 report;
appearance of mystery, legendary, or extinct animals, 451;
fairies, 380;
phantom dogs and hounds of folklore legends, 374;
headless ghosts, 370;
female ghost dressed in white, 349;
spirits or ghosts of dead animals, 291;
the devil, 233;
ghosts that guard treasure, 231;
phantom large black cats, 200.
