ANTIQUE dealers are queuing up to take space in a new venture opening up in Taunton next month.
Vincent Page and Lesley White are preparing to launch Antiques on High on Friday, November 4, after recently taking on Taunton Antiques Market, in Silver Street.
"We've already had a raft of interest from new dealers wanting space and cabinets in the popular venue.
"The more traditional style of the shopfront has created a perfect situation with many of the Monday dealers keen to take a cabinet in the store, which will be open more than the one day a week that the centre has been known for."
After the initial opening, it will operate from 10am to 4pm every Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and soon afterwards it will welcome customers and traders seven days a week, with the traditional Monday Market remaining.
Working with the Antiques on High brand, antiques specialist David Harper, well known for his regular appearances on shows such as Antiques Road Trip, Bargain Hunt and Cash in the Attic, has also confirmed he will be visiting the new venue to shoot various promotional videos.
Mr Page told the County Gazette: "Both Lesley and I have been flat out since picking up the keys with all the usual tasks involved and with the new phone and broadband line already in, new sign going up this week, various LED lights already replacing the older tubes and the carpet going down on Tuesday on one section of the store, the rest of the premises will certainly keep us occupied.
"However we do have plenty of green paint."
