THIS video shows the moment a motorist drives into a car parked outside the owner's home, gets out to check the damage and then simply drives off.

The culprit made no attempt to contact the owner and simply drove away, leaving hundreds of pounds worth of damage in their wake.

The incident happened in Foxdown Terrace, Wellington, at 6.40pm on Saturday (November 5).

The car that was hit can be seen rocking as the other vehicle collides with it.

The driver, who was being followed by another car, parks up at the side of the road a few metres away.

They then walk up to the damaged vehicle, look at the damage, walk back to their car and drive away.

Martyn Richards did not notice the damage to his car until the following day.

"I hadn't noticed it that evening," said Mr Richards.

"But I came out the next day and saw someone had hit the car.

"I checked the door camera and saw what had happened."

Mr Richards said he has been given details of the white car responsible for the damage and has a description of the driver. He has contacted the police.

He added: "There was someone driving behind that car who witnessed the incident.

"I guess they moved on because the other car stopped and it looked as though they were going to report what had happened."

Mr Richards said: "I'm very surprised the person who did it stopped and looked at the damage but didn't knock on the door or anything.

"It's disgusting. I can't believe anyone could hit a car and just notice it and then walk away."
