AN impressive crowd of more than 800 people gathered at Cheddar Football Club for the annual bonfire night and firework display.
The event was held at the club’s Bowdens Park home on Saturday evening (November 5), and attracted many visitors from Cheddar and the surrounding area.
As the wet weather stopped just in time, families and children came together to watch the beautiful display put together by volunteers, braving the cold weather and November skies.
Football club chairman Matt Postins was thrilled with how the evening went.
He said: “We were again delighted to host our annual bonfire night and fireworks event for the good people of Cheddar and the surrounding area.”
The annual event, which has been running for years, boasts of an “unparalleled display” in the local region, with a “fantastic fireworks display, bonfire and cheer”.
Matt has thanked everyone who worked hard to put the event together.
He said: “I want to express my greatest gratitude for all those volunteers who made the evening sparkle.
“I also want to express my huge thanks to the local community who attended in their droves to share their evening with us.
“A great night was had by all. We look forward to holding another grand event next year!”
