AN Indian restaurant in Taunton has won a national accolade.

Turmeric Kitchen, in Station Road, won a blue ribbon in the Good Food Awards.

It was the second consecutive year the eaterie has been recognised in the awards.

A spokesperson for the judges said: "We like to recognise those hard-working and conscientious Turmeric Kitchen team who go that extra mile in providing good food."

Niranjan Kumar, general manager at the restaurant, said: "Turmeric Kitchen’s delicious food and immersive ambience accurately depict the flavours of Southern India.

"We strive to better customer health by eliminating the use of artificial colours in our freshly prepared dishes and instead opt to use natural colourants such as turmeric, a powerful antioxidant.

"Our fresh, light and healthy food are prepared with passion and care combined with a 'slow food' approach to guarantee that your taste buds are thoroughly impressed."

Turmeric Kitchen also won a Travelers choice award 2022 and award winning food accolade 2023.
