THREE people have appeared in court charged with assisting an offender following the death of a 16-year-old in Radstock earlier this year.
Charley Bates died on Sunday, July 31 in The Street after he was stabbed in a disorder involving a number of people.
He was found critically injured and was pronounced dead at the scene despite receiving emergency treatment by officers and paramedics.
Three people appeared at Bath Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, November 30 charged with assisting an offender.
They were Lauren Ephgrave (20, of Melksham), Lawrence Day (19, of Exeter) and Jack Seal (19, of Frome).
An 18-year-old man was previously charged with murder and remanded in custody.
Joshua Delbono, of Slipps Close, Frome, is due to stand trial in January after he was charged with murder in August.
A police spokesperson said: “Three people have appeared in court charged with assisting an offender.
“The charges come as part of a murder investigation following the death of 16-year-old Charley Bates on July 31 this year.
“They have been released on unconditional bail ahead of appearing before Bristol Crown Court on Monday, December 5.
“An 18-year-old man has been charged with one count of murder. He has been remanded in custody and is due to stand trial next month.”
