CAROLINE Faithfull, a local swimmer from Taunton Deane Swimming Club recently competed in the first ever British Down Syndrome Swimming Championships.
Held at the K2 in Crawley, the Championships brought together the very best swimmers in the country.
Caroline, who lives in South Petherton, represented Reading Cygnets Swimming Club on the day but she trains three times a week at Taunton Deane.
On the day, Caroline won three gold medals in the 800metre freestyle, 400metre freestyle and 200metre backstroke.
She also won a silver mdeal for the 200metre freestyle and a bronze for the 100metre freestyle.
In addition she received a trophy for getting three new British records. A standout performance from Caroline on the day.
A spokesperson from Down Syndrome Swimming GB said: "A top 20 in the World swimmer, Caroline is a consistent performer & real asset to Team."
