A TAUNTON hairstylist has been recognised for his achievements at a national awards ceremony at The Londoner Hotel in Leicester Square, London.
Cameron Willetts, a director at Combers Inside-Out Hairdressing, was named the Project: X Achiever of the Year at The Fellowship Luncheon & Hair Awards.
Project: X offers a mentoring programme allowing its members to explore their creativity, expand their skills and develop their individuality.
Cameron was presented with his trophy by Sam Burnett, the leader of Project: X.
Sam said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Cameron Willetts and watching him grow from strength to strength over the year.
“What a talent he is, bringing his A game every single time.
“With talented hairstylists such as Cameron breaking through, the future of British hairdressing is in safe hands. A standout winner and one to watch!”
After picking up the award, Cameron said: “I have enjoyed working with the Project X team in London under the mentorship of Sam.
“I appreciate what a privilege it is the be chosen by The Fellowship, out of hundreds of applicants to make it to the team in the first place. You are my hairdressing heroes.
“It is my ambition to continue to work with The Fellowship and to help sustain the reputation you have all worked so hard to build.
“You inspire, educate, and lead the fashion trends for hairdressers from all over the world and I am honoured to be in the same room.
“I would also like to say a special thanks to Sam for his hands-on, accessible approach to teaching, his unquestionable knowledge and, of course, for this award.”
Around 400 industry professionals gathered at the ceremony, which was organised by The Fellowship for British Hairdressing.
Guests enjoyed a three-course lunch followed by the awards to celebrate the creativity and successes of its membership.
Cameron has been selected for Project Sassoon, the Fellowship's new scheme offering mentoring opportunities related to hair cutting, colouring and styling.
