A Taunton man has denied raiding two homes in different parts of Somerset and East Devon in the space of two days.
Steffan Ayres is alleged to have stolen a can of petrol from a house in Cotlake Close, Taunton on March 25 this year and power tools from another in Crewkerne Road, Axminster on March 26.
The first break-in is alleged to have taken pace at around 9.30 am when the building was empty while the second is alleged to have occurred at around 3.30 pm.
Ayres, aged 47, of Brookside Close, Taunton, denied two counts of burglary when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court.
Another defendant, Samantha Ravenor, aged 42, of East Reach, Taunton, pleaded not guilty to the Axminster burglary at an earlier hearing. They were both bailed to await a trial at Exeter on October 2, 2023.
