POLICE are investigating after a glass window at Taunton Minster was broken in a burglary.
The break-in took place between Tuesday, January 3, and Wednesday, January 4.
The cash drawer of the church coffee shop was stolen in the incident and vicar Rev Tobi Osmond said the donation box was also broken into.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating after a leaded glass window at St Mary Magdalene Church in Church Square, Taunton, was broken in a burglary.
“The vicar alerted police to the break-in on Wednesday morning, 4 January, after discovering the smashed window and finding the cash drawer of the church coffee shop till had been stolen.
“It happened sometime between 3pm on Tuesday 3 and 8.30am on Wednesday 4 January.
“Officers and crime scene investigators attended and enquiries continue.”
