SGT is calling all schools in Somerset! If you are thinking of starting a garden or renovating an existing one, the Somerset Gardens Trust (SGT) can help with funding of up to £350.
The SGT, a conservation and education charity, is keen to support cross-curricular projects where pupils are involved at every stage of creating or enhancing a garden.
Diana Hebditch, Chairman of the SGT said : "The aim of the SGT grant scheme is to help develop pupils’ learning and skills and encourage an interest in gardening and it’s interesting to see how schools use the funding to do that.
"We’ve been able to contribute money towards a variety of projects, including plants for a sensory garden, raised vegetable beds and gardening tools and equipment."
The Somerset Gardens Trust is a conservation and education charity working to protect and record the county’s historic parks and gardens. They arrange visits to gardens, both in Somerset and further afield, and organise lectures and events for members. They give grants to school gardens, horticultural students and to restoration projects.
