POLICE are searching for the owner of two dogs reportedly seen attacking sheep in the countryside.
The incident happened on farmland in the Tower Hill area of Williton at around 2.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, January 31).
As a result of the attack, a pregnant ewe had to be put to sleep.
The person in charge of the dogs is described as a white man who was wearing a grey fleece and a blue bobble hat.
It is believed the dogs may have been a sandy coloured Labrador and a German Shepherd.
A spokesperson for Minehead and West Somerset Neighbourhood Policing said: "A pregnant ewe was badly injured as a result of the attack and has sadly had to be put down.
"We would urge the owner of the dogs to please come forward and speak to officers.
"If you witnessed this incident or think you may know the owner of the dogs involved, please contact PC 1073 Oswick via 101 and quote crime reference number 5223024598.
"Please may we take this opportunity to remind you to keep your dogs on leads at all times when walking through fields with livestock in them."
