TAUNTON Deane MP Rebecca Pow visited a project supporting homeless Armed Forces veterans.
She toured Victory House, in East Reach, Taunton, and met some of the residents and members of the team at homeless charity Arc.
Victory House was set up in a former pub in 2018 to help cater for a rise in veterans using the services of Arc, known at the time as Taunton Association for the Homeless.
The premises contains eight rooms and a communal room where residents can socialise and support each other.
Victory House is one of Arc’s many accommodation services where residents are supported to recover from their homelessness and other difficulties they may face until they are ready to move on to longer term, independent accommodation.
Following her visit, Ms Pow said: "The support given by Victory House is invaluable to our veterans in Taunton, to whom we owe so much for their service.
"I am impressed by the dedication of the team at Arc and I know from my conversation with some of the residents how much they appreciate the care and advice they are given.
"Working closely with other agencies, Arc is able to facilitate a more stable environment and independent living which allows so many to settle and find work locally.”
