ALZHEIMER's Society is inviting everyone in Somerset to come together and support its Forget Me Not Appeal in May, 2023.
This event is to remember and honour people they know who are living with dementia or who had dementia.
A spokesperson said :"It’s never been more important to unite against dementia. There are currently 10,300 people living with dementia in Somerset with someone developing it every three minutes. This number is set to rise to over one million by 2025, with many millions more carers, partners, families, and friends affected."
"By wearing your Forget Me Not badge and supporting the appeal, you can show people living with dementia in Somerset they have not been forgotten, and you understand and stand with them. The badge is a symbol of solidarity and shows supporters, through their donations, are helping to provide life-changing dementia support."
Alzheimer’s Society is a vital source of support and a powerful force for change for everyone affected by dementia in Somerset. Too many are facing some of the hardest and most frightening times alone, without adequate support.
It is only with the generous help of supporters that Alzheimer’s Society can carry out its urgent work providing expert support to those who need it most.
Alzheimer’s Society is asking people in Somerset to join the Forget Me Not Appeal in honour of loved ones by donating, getting a badge and showing their support.
