LOVELL Homes has shared the benefits of buying a new build in honour of New Homes Week.

The national event, which is organised by the Home Builders Federation (HBF), runs from Monday, February 27 to Friday, March 3. The week is designed to provide house hunters with all the information and guidance they need to move to a new build home.

This could include any of the homes in Lovell Homes' Foxglove Meadows development in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding Somerset area.

Suzie Hewitt, regional sales director at Lovell Homes, said: “We are delighted to be taking part in New Homes Week by providing Somerset property seekers will all the information they need about moving to a brand-new home.

“There are so many benefits to living in a new build property, as they allow homeowners to save on bills and live more sustainably.

"We’re excited to be sharing our top five benefits, in the hope that we can help property seekers find a home that is perfect for them.”

Here are the benefits of a new build, according to Lovell Homes:

  • Savings on energy bills - a report by the HBF details that, on average, buyers of new build properties currently save over £2,000 on household bills each year, the equivalent of £174 per month.
  • Environmental impact - new build homes require significantly less energy use and emit over two tonnes of carbon less than older properties each year.
  • Freedom to decorate - there is no damage or hidden DIY from previous owners, and you have a completely fresh canvas to work with.
  • New build home warranty - this gives residents peace of mind. All Lovell Homes come with a 10 year NHBC Buildwork Policy.
  • Housebuying schemes - this can make moving home more affordable.
