A NUMBER of players with ties to Taunton and the Taunton Titans helped Exeter to clinch the 2023 Premiership Rugby Cup at the weekend.
First up, former Taunton School student Tom Wyatt played a major role in helping Exeter Chiefs beat London Irish 24-20 in extra time at the Gtech Brentford Community Stadium in London.
Tom came close to being named Player of the Match by the BT TV commentary panel in the match.
He previously has played for North Petherton RFC, Wiveliscombe RFC, and Taunton Titans before becoming a dual registered player with Exeter Chiefs and Cornish Pirates.
Also involved was current Taunton Titans and Exeter Chiefs dual registered player, Iwan Jenkins, who got on the points board in the Final kicking a penalty and a conversion.
Other notable Taunton Titans links also took part in the Final including Corey Teague who was dual registered with Titans and Exeter Chiefs last season, and Josh Caufield who joined Exeter Chiefs after playing for Titans and now plays for London Irish.
