THE UK’s most married man, Ron Sheppard, is moving into a care home due to exhaustion from a total of eight marriages.
Sheppard, who is now 74 years old and lives in a flat in Somerton, Somerset, will be moving to a care home near his family in Isle of Wight.
Having been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and other conditions, Sheppard feels his health is not good.
The physical and mental stresses of his many divorces have taken their toll on his body, but he says he does not regret any of the marriages and is proud to have eight children.
His longest marriage lasted 13 years, but the shortest was just 10 months.
Sheppard is looking forward to moving to Isle of Wight to be closer to his sons and their families, as he is not in touch with any of his ex-wives today.
Sheppard suffered from sexual abuse as a child, and notes that it left him with many problems over the years, leading to constant companionship with women.
Today, his days are mostly spent confined to his flat, apart from occasional shopping trips with his carers.
